What a HazoHaus rug is made of
The three layers, the printing, and the line between what is specified and what is not claimed.
The face
The walking surface is a dense polyester face about a quarter of an inch tall. The height is a decision, not an economy: it is what lets doors sweep over the rug, robot vacuums climb it and the whole thing fold into a washing machine drum. The face is specified stain and fade resistant, and the designs are printed into this layer rather than woven through the body, which is how 49 designs and 876 cuts stay affordable.
The backing
Underneath is a rubberised non-slip backing that grips wood, tile and laminate without tape or glue. It exists because of a sentence in the National Institute on Aging's fall-prevention guidance: carpets must be fixed firmly to the floor so they will not slip. The print
Every colourway of a design is the same printed pattern at the same scale, from the 2x3 doormat to the 10x14 room cut. That consistency is the practical reason the catalogue is organised as five shelves of designs rather than a heap of single rugs: a runner and a room rug from one line agree with each other, in the exact colours.
Care, from the label
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry low or air dry. No bleach; no fabric softener, which coats the fibre and dulls the print. Rugs ship folded, so expect fold lines for the first days; a short low tumble relaxes them faster. The full routine, machine sizes included, is in the washing guide.
The kids shelf
The play designs carry one extra line in their specification: non-toxic and child-safe materials, no shedding. This is printed polyester and we call it that: it is the honest name for the material and the honest reason for the price.
